20-30 drops essential oils (peppermint and wintergreen or cinnamon and clove are lovely)**
1/2 tsp sea salt
Combine all ingredients, mix well and place in a mason jar. I find having a Popsicle stick or Q-tip to dip and then place onto my toothbrush is best. If you continue to dip your toothbrush into the jar (I'm talking to my husband here) you're making your toothpaste full of germs, its just EW! Especially if you're sick, you'll keep passing yourself those germs back and forth! :)
Here is the explanation behind the above ingredients:
Coconut oil is an incredible immune/gut boost because it is antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. Remember, everything you put into your mouth is absorbed into your body, so lets help our cells the best we can in any way we can!
Xylitol is amazing as well! It is a sweetener, from a tree, which sounds like the LAST thing we should put in our toothpaste but its actually quite a powerful antibacterial so helpful in preventing bacteria build up.
Baking soda is great because it helps us stay PH balanced thanks to its alkalinity and it also makes a great abrasive; without being too abrasive and wearing away enamel.
Essential Oils not only make toothpaste taste yummy, many of them are great for oral care because they kill all those nasty germs which lead to plenty of mouth disease possibilities that I do NOT want for my kids, husband or myself!
**Now, if you are pregnant or nursing do not use any mint or rosemary essential oils.

Amazon is a great company who sells bulk products at great discount. This coconut oil price is wonderful; especially for it being organic and cold-pressed. I love that brand.
